on May 9th, 2011 middle school basketball players received their awards of excellence.This basketball season of 2010-2011 school year has been a great one.
River City Science Academy (RCSA), the first charter school in Duval County with two consecutive "A" ratings, is pleased to host a unique opportunity for high school students and parents.

Students at River City Science Academy gather to spread peaceful proclamations. The school recently collected and was named a Florida Service-Learning Leader School.

“They kind of get this [sense of] ownership,” says River City’s Science Academy Principal Dr.Dogan Tozoglu, of his charter school’s faculty. “The success is the teachers’, not ours in the administration.
Each year, the Rising Star Award is given to 1-2 service-learning teachers or administrators who have had significant accomplishment in the field in a short period of time. He or she has who has nonetheless engaged a large number of students, had a wide impact in her/his school or community, and has great potential for further growth or achievement.
Beach clean up community service
In February, a group of students traveled to Jax Beach to clean up trash. They collected everything from cigarette butts, cans, construction supplies and egg cartons! Prior to going on the trip, the students viewed a video regarding pollution in the oceans called The Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
My eldest daughter attends River City Science Academy and has since they opened their doors. I homeschooled her in 6th grade rather than send her to the local public school because the schools in our area are horrible. The students are disrespectful and the teachers' hands are tied to do anything about problem children.
