Charter Middle School Foreign Language Teacher-Turkish
River City Education Services, Inc. dba River City Science Academy has one (1) opening available for the position of Charter Middle School Foreign Language Teacher - Turkish with the following qualifications:
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Education or Turkish Language and Literature/for. equiv. Also requires 2 years’ experience in the offered job. Additionally, Proof of Eligibility for Educator’s Certificate in World Language – Turkish – for grades K-12 is required per Florida state law.
Job duties for the position include:
Instruct middle school students (grades 6th-8th) in foreign language (Turkish) learning through lectures, interactive media, and speaking exercises. Utilize cutting edge methodologies to design interdisciplinary learning experiences that fulfill the State of Florida’s standards and are consistent with the school’s mission of providing a college preparatory education. Teach how to speak and write a foreign language and the cultural aspects of areas where a particular language is used. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests, using flexible grouping based on on-going assessment to confer with students and provide differentiated instruction. Choose instructional practices, compelling topics, in-depth investigations, and detailed project plans to include plans for integrating interdisciplinary instructions as well as to promote character development in students. Deliver the curricula by using innovative instructional methods such as project-based instruction, games, computer-enhanced activities, and other equipment and materials in order to supplement presentations and facilitate learning. Responsible for the preparation and administration of tests and assignments to evaluate students’ progress and to create assessment criteria that are connected to school and state standards, and to help students understand, reflect on, and take responsibility for their learning. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by law, administrative policies, and applicable regulations. Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems or to discuss students’ progress, and to determine students’ priorities and needs.
