Wednesday, February 6, 2013, River City Science Academy was visited by a wonderful guest, DCPS Board Member Ashley Smith Juarez. As always being a participator within the school system through teaching and just recently, being made member of the school board, she was able to relate with the students with words of motivation and encouragement.

We believe that the best way to learn is through the community. We often have community leaders visit our classrooms and share their first-hand experiences with our students. This is a great way for us to bring the real world into our classroom. It is important for our students to see how the things that they learn about can be translated into real life.
