River City Science Academy's first annual Literary Fair to be held on December 2, 2017. Our students will be participating in a school-wide writing contest that features both poetry and prose, but our event is even more than that. It will truly be a celebration of all things performing arts.
What is a Literary Fair?
Imagine a celebration of the arts, a place where students, their families, educators, and community members come together to learn and express themselves through the many mediums of expression. That is what our Literary Fair is all about. Our students, staff, and community members will share their appreciation for literature, poetry, visual and performing arts. We will have workshops, presentations, readings, and performances from all genres of language arts.
How will we celebrate our River City Science Academy students' work?
Each student will be given the opportunity to submit their original work in either the poetry or prose category respective to their grade-level. The top ten pieces from each grade-level cohort (6th, 7/8th, and high school) will be awarded and honored. Additionally, we have two portfolio-based awards that feature three original prose submissions and five of poetry. Throughout the event, we will feature our students' work and honor their talents.
